Fifteen-time major champion Tiger Woods is apparently ready to tee it up at next week's PGA Championship after he made a scouting trip to Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, on Wednesday.
The PGA Championship posted photos of Woods practicing at Valhalla on its X account.
The 48-year-old was included in the field released last week for the PGA Championship, which will be played May 16-19.
During an interview on the "Today" show on May 1, Woods indicated he still hopes to play in one tournament per month. He accepted a special invitation to compete in the 124th U.S. Open at Pinehurst's Course No. 2 in North Carolina on June 13-16. The Open Championship will be played at Royal Troon Golf Course in Scotland on July 18-21.
"I have basically the next three months," Woods said. "So, I have three majors, and hopefully that will all work out."
In April, Woods set a Masters record with his 24th consecutive made cut, which broke the previous mark he shared with Fred Couples (1983 to 2007) and Gary Player (1959 to 1982).
Woods carded 82-77 on the weekend at Augusta National and finished last among players to make the cut at 16-over 304, his worst 72-hole total in a professional event.
Woods captured the 2000 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club, beating Bob May in a three-hole playoff. It was his second victory in the event -- he lifted the Wanamaker Trophy again in 2006 and 2007 -- and his third major championship victory in the calendar year. Woods won the Masters in April 2001 to complete the Tiger Slam.
In the 2014 PGA Championship at Valhalla, Woods battled an ailing back and missed the cut. It was the fourth time he missed the cut at a major as a pro.
